Sertaç Kakı ve Doç. Pek farkında olmasak da günlük hayatımızın ve kültürümüzün ayrılmaz parçaları olan sesler, somut olmayan kültürel miras açısından ise eşsiz bir öneme sahiptir. Kayıt altına alınmayan veya arşivlenmeyen sesler, ne yazık ki yok olup giderler. Özellikle İstanbul gibi dinamik bir şehrin yaşayışı, dolayısıyla da sesleri hızla değiştiği için şehrin ses sembollerinin korunması, kültürel hafızanın ve kültürel kimliğin sürdürülebilirliği açısından önemli ve gereklidir. Projenin en temel amacı ise; kentsel ve kültürel seslere olan farkındalığı artırırken, bu seslerin korunmasını kolektif bir çalışmaya dönüştürmek. Europeana Sounds organizasyonu ile kurulan ortaklık sayesinde, koleksiyondaki sesler artık Europeana Sounds platformunda da ulaşılabilir hale geldi. Proje, ayrıca Koç Üniversitesi Anadolu Medeniyetleri Araştırma Merkezi ANAMED bünyesinde açılan interaktif bir sergi yoluyla ve Studio-X Istanbul'da açılan deneyimsel bir sergi yoluyla ziyaretçilere sunuldu. İnteraktif sergide, Soundsslike arşivine katılımcılar tarafından yüklenen sesler sergi ortamında da yerini aldı ve bu sayede katılımcılar da serginin bir parçası haline geldi. Deneyimsel sergide ise, ziyaretçiler şehrin kaosu içinde kaybolan kültürel sesleri enstelasyondaki ipuçları sayesinde deneyimleme fırsatı buldular. The Soundsslike Project The Soundsslike archive, which is created under a research project titled The Soundscape of Istanbul conducted by Pınar Çevikayak Yelmi during her doctoral studies, supervised by Assoc. Sertaç Kakı and Assoc. Asım Evren Yantaç, is developed by Hüseyin Kuşcu. The Soundscape of Istanbul project approaches everyday traditions and daily urban life from a sonic perspective and aims to increase public awareness of cultural sounds. Sounds are inevitable parts of our daily lives and our cultures. Also, sounds are of great importance in terms of intangible cultural heritage. Sounds that are not protected or archived get lost forever. In a dynamic city such as Istanbul, daily life and urban sounds change rapidly. Therefore, it is significant and necessary to protect cultural soundmarks of the city to sustain cultural identity and cultural memory. In The Soundscape of Istanbul project, sound symbols of Istanbul were determined according to an online survey and interviews that we conducted. These characteristic urban sounds were recorded with professional equipment throughout the year 2015. Soundsslike project is initiated in order to expand this sound collection. In this project, an interactive platform was developed in which anyone can record and upload sounds. The main aim of the project is to raise public awareness of urban and cultural sounds and to protect these sounds as a collective work. The project became associate partners with Europeana Sounds and the collection can also be accessible under Europeana Sounds portal. The Soundsslike project was also presented as an interactive installation in Koç University Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations RCAC and by means of an experiential exhibition at Studio-X Istanbul. In the interactive exhibition, sounds that were uploaded to Soundsslike archive by participants took place also in the exhibition area so that participants became a part of the exhibition. In the experiential exhibition, however, visitors had the chance to experience the cultural sounds that are lost in the chaos of the city by the clues in the installation. Proje, somut olmayan kültürel miras kapsamına girebilecek şehir seslerini kaydedip arşive yüklemek isteyen bütün gönüllü katılımcılara açıktır. Zoom Handy Recorder önerdiğimiz bir ses kayıt cihazıdır. Ancak akıllı telefonlarla yapılan kayıtlar da kabul edilir. Ses kayıt cihazını hiçbir yere değmeyecek şekilde mont, hırka vb. Eğer hareket etmeniz gerekiyorsa, çok yavaş hareketlerle yürümeye çalışınız. Temiz ses kayıtları için sabit durmanız önerilir. Ancak fotoğrafınız yoksa, ses kaydınız ile birlikte otomatik olarak projenin logosu belirecektir. Lütfen eser sahibinden en azından sözlü izin alınız. Ekibimiz, düşük ses kalitesi, uygunsuz içerik ya da telif hakları ihlali nedeniyle yüklenen ses kayıtlarını geri çevirme hakkını saklı tutar. GUIDELINES The Soundsslike Project is a crowdsourced sound heritage archive which invites contributors to record urban sounds that are considered as intangible cultural heritage elements and to add them to the archive. Zoom Handy Recorder is recommended. Smart phones are also welcome. You can simply hide your sound recording device into your clothings without touching anywhere. For clear outcomes, standing still is recommended. You need to be sure that you have permission, at least orally. All recordings uploaded to the Soundsslike Project will need to be approved by the moderation team before they appear on the archive.
